Prime Minister

The Prime Minister is the head of the federal government and its representative in Belgium and abroad.

As head of the government, he defines the policy that will be implemented during the government's term of office. That policy is set down in the coalition agreement at the start of the term of office.

Every year – usually on the second Tuesday in October – the Prime Minister presents the federal policy statement, which outlines the main points of the government's policy for the next year, to the Chamber of Representatives. At the same time, the budget is submitted to Parliament.
